TELECOMMUNICATIONS, OPTICS & PHOTONICS CONFERENCE

14-15 FEBRUARY 2022, LONDON, UK

TOP is a brand-new event for the optical communications industry, taking place from 14-15 February 2022 in London, UK. Developed in conjunction with Optical Connections, the conference will provide excellent networking opportunities for optical and photonic component and systems manufacturers and developers, along with fibre infrastructure and data centre providers. It will focus on the development and application of optics and photonics in telecommunications and data centres, along with presentations on photonic components and free-space optics.

TOPICS Telecommunications topics will include WDM transport transceiver technologies; optical amplifiers; optical fibres; ROADM, WSS and filter technologies; DSPs; high speed converters and fibre access. The Data Centre presentation and discussion will cover high density interconnects; data centre switching; parallel optics and active optical cables, as well as energy efficiency and green data centres. Increasingly, these technologies are underpinned by the latest developments in Photonic Components . To explore this exciting and innovative topic, conference delegates will find out about the latest trends in photonic integration; silicon photonics using InP, GaAs and polymer solutions; packaging solutions; hybrid integration; lasers, modulators and receivers; filters and switches and connectors. Free Space Optics is another fast-growing area of the industry and the Conference will also be looking at issues around satellite and space optics; 3D and sensing optics and photonic devices for free space.

Delegates can expect to hear from leading minds from companies including BT; Lumentum; University of Bristol; Corning; UCL; Microsoft; Huawei; EFFECT Photonics; Lumentum; II-VI; Fraunhofer, Glasgow; Resolute Photonics; University of Aston; Huber & Suhner. Speakers at the conference will include Andrew Lord , senior manager, Optical Research, BT; George Zervas , UCL; Fotini Karinou , senior researcher, Microsoft; James Regan , CEO, EFFECT Photonics; Gerald Bonner , researcher at Fraunhofer Centre for Applied Photonics; Andrew Shields , head of Quantum Technology Division, Toshiba Europe Ltd; Jake Kennard , co-founder & technical sales director at KETS Quantum Security. More speakers will be announced closer to the event. CALL FOR SPEAKERS The deadline for submissions for live speaker presentations at the TOP conference is 10th December, 2021. TOP is open to industry supply companies, technologists and academia. If you are
