SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT OF THE YEAR WINNER: GEDA CONSTRUCTION, SUNNINGDALE GARDENS, BELFAST Setting an industry benchmark for energy efficiency in housing, GEDA Construction’s Sunningdale Gardens was a standout winner. Judges were impressed by the exceptional sustainability of the homes, as evidenced by the project achieving full Passive House certification and an EPC A rating, which guarantees extremely low running costs and a comfortable living environment for residents. The project was also praised for its exemplary community engagement, which included partnering with a local school, providing local employment and achieving a perfect 45/45 score in the Considerate Constructors Scheme, reinforcing its commitment to safety and social value.
SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT OF THE YEAR HIGHLY COMMENDED: KELLY BROTHERS, ROSS STREET, BELFAST Excelling in both design and execution, Ross Street was highly commended for its role in revitalising an urban area. Judges noted its success in regenerating the area with a visually harmonious development of high-quality, superbly crafted homes. The project’s success was rooted in its meticulous attention to detail, leading to the achievement of zero defects on handover. The project’s thoughtful use of space and a strong feeling of security, reinforced by its Secure by Design principles, further contributed to a thriving community. Judges were also impressed by the high energy efficiency of the homes, which achieved an EPC A rating with on-site renewable technologies.
