Terri Zhu Assistant Commissioner of Compliance Compliance Terri Zhu is the Chicago Department of Aviation’s Assistant Commissioner of Compliance, where she oversees contractor compliance with the City’s supplier diversity and local and diverse hiring requirements, and develops initiatives to help small businesses work at Chicago’s airports. Prior to her time at O’Hare, Terri implemented workforce training programs at the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership; conducted applied policy research at the University of Chicago Inclusive Economy Lab; opened a non-profit grocery store; and taught German to undergraduate and graduate students. She holds a Ph.D. in Germanic Studies and Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in German Literature and Cultural History from Columbia University. Looking ahead, Terri aims to reform business processes that impede the ability of small businesses to contract successfully with Chicago’s airports.
Omar Vega is the General Manager of Airport Operations at Midway International Airport, bringing over 20 years of expertise in airport operations, facility maintenance, and customer service management. He began his career in 2000 with Envoy, advancing from Fleet Service Clerk to Ramp Supervisor before joining American Airlines in 2005 as a Customer Service Manager, later becoming Facility Maintenance Manager. Omar Demonsteates leadership, problem- solving, and commitment to safety. He excels in managing large-scale operations, mentoring teams, and driving efficiency. At Midway, he continues to enhance operations, improve customer service, and uphold the highest safety standards for passengers and airline partners.
