DEN’s airline partners have their own ambitious GHG reduction goals, and while Sustainable Aviation Use (SAF) is a primary strategy, we have heard from many in the SAF industry that Colorado may not be a feasible market for high levels of SAF penetration, due to our lack of State-level incentives, lack of refining and pipeline capacity, lack of available SAF feedstocks, etc. We are interested in policy or technological solutions that would make Denver a more attractive market for SAF. My goal is to create an action plan of opportunities to increase SAF use at DEN to create a long- term strategy focused on next steps, engagement with leadership, and the appropriate airport role in the SAF market.
