INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MANAGER Paul’s on board

The Term 1 holidays provided the first big opportunity for College’s new International Student Manager Paul McCarthy. He started at College in March and within a fortnight was steering the international holiday programme for up to a dozen boys who were staying in Christchurch for the vacation. “The first step was meeting the students and seeing what they wanted to do, then it involved scheduling excursions and building in activities, so that the boys could have a really worthwhile holiday and some stimulating challenges.” Paul’s always up for a challenge himself – that’s why he applied for the International Student Manager role earlier this year. He was keen to learn something new, to upskill and to focus on the specifics of international students.
