RYANAIR LAUNCHES NEW ROUTES TO ISRAEL

Ryanair will operate direct flights from Brussels, Paris, Kaunas, Lithuania and Krakow, Poland

T he Irish Low Coast company, Ryanair, announced the operation of flights from Ramon Airport near Eilat. This is dramatic news mainly for the residents of the southern city of Eilat, who will now be able to fly to Europe at low-cost prices. Ryanair will operate direct flights from Ramon Airport to several destinations in

We fly to 25 routes in 13 countries, including 5 new destinations including the city of Bari in Italy. 200 flights a week. I believe that we will be able to achieve in Israel what we have achieved in other countries” (note that Ryanair has already flown from Tbilisi to Bari in the past and is now renewing the route). The Irish airline has flown from the beginning of the year to September (inclusive) - 929,999 passengers from and to Ben Gurion and is ranked second in Ben Gurion in terms of market share, after El Al, which has flown

3,012,570 passengers since the beginning of the year. The company believes in the Israeli market and plans to further increase the number of flights with it. Minister of Tourism Yoel Razvozov (Yesh Atid) on the expansion of Ryanair’s operations in Israel: “Get ready for a warm winter in Eilat! I welcome Ryanair’s decision to open direct flights from 4 destinations in Europe to Eilat. This is good news that will lower airfares, and bring many tourists who will bring a lot of money into the city. This is how tourism is promoted, this is how the economy is strengthened, and this is how Israel is positioned as a leading international destination”.

This move is also good news for Ramon Airport, which is faltering with limited aviation activity. Only recently another attempt to increase the volume of activity of the Israeli airlines at the Ilan Ramon airport
