group that O. O. McIntyre, the cele brated New York columnist said, “ I would as soon take a drink in church as on Christmas.” Another effective step in this cam paign would be a letter to the editor of the local newspaper, suggesting that he write an editorial, advising a Christian observance of Christmas. This letter should be signed by as many church members as possible. It is the overwhelming weight of the Christians that must make itself felt. As a fitting climax, a group of Christians could go to the mayor and suggest that on Christmas eve a carol sing be held at the main intersection of the town. (Not in the high school aud itorium where people have to make an effort to go, but in the most public place possible.) Christmas carols are a tradition and most people enjoy singing them. Here again care must be taken that there is not too much singing of “Jingle Bells” but rather “Joy to the World” and such carols. Then having urged that Christmas be kept Christian, it is the responsi bility of the Christians to stress the need of Christ’s being bom in the heart of each individual. This may be done from the pulpit and also by personal witness and by the lavish giving away of Christmas tracts. If you back this program with prayer, God will honor it. Your will be rewarded by seeing men and women awaken to a new sense of the meaning of Christmas and some of them to the desire to be a Christian.

Devil Run

put y ou rse lf in the way of temptation. Run from your pas sions. Don’t stay there and ask Jesus Christ to take care of you. Flee! The Bible teaches that we have no temptations which are not common to man. It teaches that God will not suffer us to be tempted above that we are able. It teaches that God will provide a way of escape. One way to escape from passion and appetites are two good legs. God wants us to run and if you don’t' run you are disobeying God. It is a sin to stay and ex pose y ou rse lf to unnecessary temptations. — Comments, Bob Jones Univ.
