find that no slight shaking will cause them to be mixed again. The reason for this change is that the magnet now controls the nails. Peace will come to this world only when Christ is the center of all things, and is con trolling all nations. We are interest

comes from Christ, but we learn of it through the Bible or some mem ber of His church. In the state, we find the Word “ PROTECTION.” If a robber gets into our home, we call the police and not the church to pro tect us. (Place these words under their respective pictures.) Next we find “MERCY” in the church, and “ JUSTICE” in the state. Looking fur ther, we find “BIBLE” in the church and “LAW” in the state. Next we dis cover “ FREEDOM” and “OBEDI ENCE.” Often obedience to country will require one to serve in time of war. The church makes it possible to give gifts, and the state requires taxes. It will be well for us to re member that we have our church and country, and that each carries certain responsibilities and privileges. In all this we should keep Acts 5:29 in mind, “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.” Dee. 13, 1953 S e e i n g S u c c e s s OBJECTS: A handful of nails and a large white-covered magnet. LESSON: This pile of nails reminds me of the nations of earth. Some are headed one way, and some another way. Well-meaning men have been try ing for many years to straighten out the nations of earth, only to find that their efforts are hopeless. We might . take much time and try to straighten these nails out, but the slightest shake would cause them to be mixed up again. I have an idea as to how these nails can be straightened and kept straight. It is by using this large white magnet, I will take the nails and place their heads against the magnet. They now stay where I put them. When Christ comes into the lives of people, they are like this. This is true of individuals and na tions. The reason that the world is with out peace today is that Christ is not the center of things. Now that we have made all of these nails contact the magnet, we

OBJECTS: A 5" triangle, two pieces of string 4 feet long, a sketch of the national Capitol, a sketch of a church, 8 pieces of paper ZVz x 11 inches, and a small paper sketch of the world. (Cover a piece of cardboard a yard square, with outing flannel. Paste flannel on the back of each of the above mentioned articles, so that they will stick to the flannel-board. Print the word “GOD” on the triangle. Write the following words on the

ed in having peace, but we must real ize that this will never be accom plished so far as the world is con cerned, until Christ comes to rule and reign. However, individuals can receive Him as Saviour, and then in their own hearts they have peace with God. An example of this condition is found in Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neith er bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Paul says in Ro mans 10:12, “For there is no differ ence between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.” Dec. 20, 1953 M ade O ne B y T he S on OBJECTS: A red cross and 4 “U’s” . (Make the cross of cardboard, 6" high and 4" wide. The “U’s” are made of paper 11 inches wide and 8 V 2 inches high. The side and bottom bars are 1 inch wide, and the comers at the base are square, rather than curved. Color the back of each red. Color the fronts red, yellow, black and white, respectively . Fold the right side in 1 inch from the outside, which will be just inside the upright bar. Fold in again 2 Yz inches farther —measuring from the outside folded edge—which will bring the upright bar to the center. Follow the same procedure with the left side. This should bring the two side bars to

pieces of paper: “ PARDON, MERCY, LAW, FREEDOM, GIFTS, PROTEC TION, JUSTICE, BIBLE, OBEDI ENCE, and TAXES.” Make a pocket on the back of the church and the Capitol, between the sketch and the flannel, and place the first four words mentioned in the church, and the others in the Capitol.) LESSON: I want to talk to you about two things God has given the world. We will place God’s name at the top of the board, and the world at the bottom. We will run this piece of string down on the left to this church, and on to the world. The other string we will run down to the national Capitol on the right, and to the world. God has given us the church and state. They are both es tablished by Him. Therefore, there are certain privileges and responsi bilities attached to both. In time of war, particularly, there is often much confusion if this is not remembered. We. will see what privileges and responsibilities we can find in these two institutions. In the church, we find the word “PARDON.” Pardon
