THE INDEPENDENCE PROJECT FRIENDRAISER A neighborhood affair at The West Home THE INDEPENDENCE PROJECT, Inc. (TIP), held its Kickoff Celebration on October 23, 2025, at the home of Tioga residents, Catherine and Jason West. It was a beautiful evening with close to one hundred attendees, including friends and distinguished guests. Catherine is a founder of the organization, and Tioga neighbor Arlene Smillov serves as treasurer. It was a true neighborhood affair, as Stacie Danahy with Reverie designed gorgeous florals for the event, and Alexandra Fulda captured the photography. Celebrity bartenders at the event were Tioga neighbor and UF Gator Coach Kelly Rae Finley and Samantha Bohon. The Independence Project is a registered 501 © (3) nonprofit whose mission is to create a supported independent living community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the greater Gainesville community.
