FROM PASSION TO PURPOSE Both Zari and Josh discovered their calling through personal experiences that shaped their empathy and expertise. Josh, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and UF graduate, found his path after a sports injury during college. “My pursuit became my passion,” he says. “Helping people restore movement and confidence is an incredible privilege.” For Zari, a certified lymphedema therapist and UF alumna, the appeal of occupational therapy was its hands-on ability to transform lives. “I can see measurable improvements in just one session—reductions in swelling, faster wound healing, and visible changes that completely alter someone’s quality of life,” she shares. “It’s powerful, and it inspires me every day.” A FAMILY ROOTED IN CARE The Coopers are proud parents to two young boys—ages three and one—and their beloved dog Granite, a 10-pound therapy mascot who sometimes joins appointments to spread a little extra love. Gainesville is home to the family, and their deep connection to the area is reflected in their work and the relationships they have formed. You might spot them at Tioga GHFC, at local playgrounds, or enjoying time outdoors together. When they’re not caring for patients, Josh enjoys baking and tending to their garden, while Zari can often be found singing and dancing around the house. They both share the dream of training as master’s track and field athletes someday.
