King's Business - 1918-10

THE K I NG ' S BUS I NESS and sometimes Abraham felt like turn ing around and going back, but then he knew God told him to go on, so Abraham obeyed God and travelled on, until after a long ■While, God told him they could stop for they were now in the land God had promised to show them, and so he had watched over and taken such good care of them all through the long journey. You know God always does just exactly what He says He will do, and we are always safe in obeying Him every time. Now there were some more busy days get ting settled in the new land, so they put up their tents, for these people lived in tents all the time, and did not have houses to live in like we have to-day, and now the people who lived in this new land would soon know what kind of a man Abraham was, for he took some stones, and right in front of his tent he built a little altar, something like a table or pulpit. There Abraham knelt down and prayed to God, and thanked Him for bringing them all safely to this new land. The people would all know Abraham believed in God, and you know the people that live near you. Your neighbors, when they see you go to Sunday School and Church every Sunday know that you love Jesus and are obeying Him. When they see the boys and girls and big

881 folks go to the mountains and beaches every Sunday, they know they are just like the people who trusted in the idols of wood and stone, for they thought more of the beach and mountains than they did of God. We want to be like Abraham who obeyed God, that is we will always do just what He asks us to do in His word. (Always teach with the Bible in hand, emphasizing it as God’s Word.) Now we are going to see this week how many of us are really and truly going to be God’s friends, and obey God like Abraham did. We will obey mother, for the Bible tells us children should obey their parents, so we will be doers of God’s Word. Closing Prayer.—-Dear Jesus, we thank thee for loving us, and help us to obey thee every day. THE LESSON PICTURE
