Lot was selfish and chose the best land, and we can tiever make the best choice when we are selfish and do not treat other people in the same way as we would wish them to treat us. What about the poor old uncle Abraham? Well after ,Lot had moved away God told Abraham he could have all the land as far as he could see in every direction— that it all belonged to him and his people forever. Just think how happy Abraham was to have God do this for him. You see Abraham did not. lose anything by letting Lot have first choice, did he? He got the best pack­ age for he was not selfish and treated others the same way he would like to be treated. When a boy or girl always wants the first place; or the biggest apple, they are like Lot, selfish, but

(1) A nd it cam e to pass a fter these things, that God did tem pt A b ra ­ ham : and he said B ehold, here I am. (2): And he said, T ake now th y son, thine on ly son Isaac, w h om thou lo v - est, and get thee into the land of M oriah; and offer him there fo r a burnt offerin g upon one o f the m oun- fa in s ,w h ich I w ill tell thee of. A brah am rose up early in the m orning,- and saddled his ass, and to o k tw o o f his y ou n g m en w ith him, ' and Isaac his son, and clave the w ood fo r the burnt offerin g, and rose up, and wfent into the place o f w h ich God had told him.
