Tuscany & the Amalfi Coast This superb new twin centre tour takes in the beautiful unspoilt area of southern Tuscany located amidst rolling vineyards immersed in scenic countryside and medieval hilltop villages, followed by a spectacular coastal setting on Sorrento’s gorgeous peninsular! PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Siena & Wine Experience We embark on a full day excursion to the stunning city of Siena, perhaps the most classic of the Tuscan towns and considered by many to be one of Italy’s loveliest medieval cities. We start with a 2 hour walking tour around the beautiful medieval centre, introducing us to the city’s highlights, before enjoying free time for lunch. This afternoon we visit an authentic winery where we learn all about this fascinating family-run business and enjoy a tipple ourselves! Day 3 Castel del Piano Driver’s Day Off Today we can take a leisurely stroll into the centre of the authentic little Tuscan town of Castel del Piano, just a 10 minute walk from our hotel on the flat. We enjoy free time here to explore and perhaps treat ourselves to some local delicacies. We return to our hotel in the afternoon, where we enjoy a delicious tasting of olive oil, truffle and honey. Day 4 Sorrento Coast via Monte Cassino After breakfast, we start our journey to Vico Equense on the Sorrento Coast, stopping at the evocative WWII cemetery at Monte Cassino on our way, where one of the worst battles of the War took place. We continue our journey skirting around Naples, where we can admire the views of the bay and Mount Vesuvius in the distance as we approach our second hotel. Day 5 Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius This morning we visit the incredible Roman city of Pompeii , buried by volcanic ash in AD79. Our guide really brings this town back to life, describing its time as a vibrant and bustling trading centre. In the afternoon a visit to nearby Mount Vesuvius provides us with spectacular views across the Bay of Naples and the islands of Ischia and Capri. Day 6 Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Drive Driver’s Day Off After breakfast, we board a local coach for a trip to the nearby bustling resort of Sorrento, where we can browse the interesting shops along the beautiful lanes of the old town and enjoy a coffee in one of the many excellent cafés on the main square. In the afternoon, our journey continues with a spectacular drive along the Amalfi Coast. Known as one of the most spectacular drives in Europe, we travel along the twisting and winding roads alongside picturesque villages and towns hugging the cliffs and coves. We pass Positano on our way to Amalfi, where we spend some free time, before making our way back to our hotel. Day 7 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home.

Originally a private aristocratic villa, this well run and friendly hotel is set in its own grounds just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Castel del Piano.
