Andorra the Three Countries Explorer! The tiny principality of Andorra, nestled between France and Spain, is a land of alpine charm, narrow valleys and mountainous landscapes. Full of pretty villages and charming vistas, and perfectly located for crossing the border and visiting its neighbours! PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival Today we enjoy a tour of Andorra’s four scenic valleys as we travel through spectacular scenery – La Massana, Ordino, Pal and Escaldes. We have time at leisure to explore Andorra’s capital, Andorra la Vella, with its wealth of shops and designer boutiques. Don’t forget to explore the Barri Antic (old town) square in the original heart of the town when it was little more than a village, and the 16th century Casa de la Vall, the old parliament building, court and prison. Day 3 Three Countries Tour This morning we cross the border into Spain, to the pretty town of La Seu d’Urgell, historically one of the most important cities in medieval Catalonia, full of Romanesque architecture such as the Santa Maria Cathedral. A market takes place every Tuesday and Saturday, and it is documented that there has been a market held here since the year 1029! We then visit the riverside town of Puigcerdà. On the border with France, the town has interesting monuments as well as lovely sunny sidewalk cafés. Our next stop is the French Pyrenean ski resort of Font-Romeu, before we return to Andorra via the Port d’Envalira mountain pass. Day 4 El Tarter Driver’s Day Off We spend today at leisure. Day 2 Scenic Drive & Andorra la Vella We leave the principality today and head over the Spanish border, through the Catalan countryside, to the village of Ribes de Freser. From here we wind our way up the mountain on the historic rack railway to picture-perfect Vall de Núria – at 2,000 metres above sea level, we enjoy spectacular views. We then return to our hotel via La Molina, one of the area’s mountain resorts. Day 6 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home. walk in the beautiful countryside.
