Luxury Stay on Ireland’s West Coast & Aran Islands Explorer We are delighted to offer the fabulous Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel as our base for this brilliant tour, where family Irish hospitality is at its very best! Not only are we staying in the picturesque Adare, renowned as one of Ireland’s prettiest villages, but we also pack in an abundance of beautiful scenery, with a visit to Ireland’s famous Burren and fabulous Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher cruises. PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival Today we head to Café Linnalla , home of delicious artisan ice cream, located in the scenic countryside of the Burren with stunning views of Galway Bay. We enjoy a guided tour followed by a picnic of local products and an ice cream sundae . From here, we head to The Burren Centre to learn more about this limestone paradise on the Wild Atlantic Way. Featuring the largest expanse of limestone pavement in the world and recognised as a UNESCO Geopark, the multimedia exhibition takes visitors through thousands of years of history, revealing the flora and fauna, geology, archaeology, We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Café Linnalla & The Burren Today we travel along the Wild Atlantic Way to Doolin Pier where we board the Doolin Ferry , which takes us from Doolin to Inis Mór in just 35 minutes. On arrival on the magnificent Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands, we embark on a minibus tour with a local guide . Having some of the most spectacular cliff coastline in Europe and home to over 50 monuments of Christian, pre-Christian and Celtic mythological heritage, we discover the fascinating history of this living outdoor museum. The highlight of our tour is a visit to Dun Aengus, a 2,000 year old fort perched on the edge of a 300ft high cliff. Please note, sturdy footwear is recommended for this part of the tour as ground is uneven in some places. This afternoon, we board our return ferry back to Doolin Pier , before setting sail again for a stunning 1 hour cruise under the iconic Cliffs of Moher , which rise to a whopping height of over 700ft at their highest point. Day 4 Foynes Flying Boat Museum & Adare We begin our day with a visit to the famous Foynes Flying Boat Museum , home to the world’s only replica of a B314 legendary flying boat, where we enjoy a guided tour and Irish coffee experience . We then spend the afternoon at leisure in picturesque Adare with time to explore and see for ourselves why it is renowned as one of Ireland’s prettiest villages. We return to our hotel early afternoon to make the most of the fantastic leisure facilities before we depart.
