Day 2 Arrival, Royal Delft & The Hague Today we arrive early morning in Holland in the ports of either Hook of Holland, Rotterdam or IJmuiden and travel onwards to Amsterdam. From here, we journey to Delft for a guided tour of Royal Delft, home of the famous Delft Blue earthenware, including tea/coffee and refreshments . Our tour takes place in the last remaining 17th century Delftware factory, where we discover its history and watch the artisan painters at work. We then have free time to enjoy lunch and a stroll through one of the Netherlands’ most beautiful, historic city centres. In the afternoon we visit The Hague , known as the ‘royal city by the sea’, and home to both the Dutch houses of parliament and the Dutch royal family. We enjoy a guided, part walking, part step-on tour of this chic, compact city, exploring its long political and regal history. Please note, this itinerary may be amended depending on the port of arrival. Day 3 Amsterdam We spend the day at leisure in Amsterdam, exploring this fabulous city known for its historic buildings, fascinating museums and lovely canals. In keeping with the royal theme, we may wish to visit the grand Royal Palace Amsterdam, where we can follow in the footsteps of royalty as we explore the imposing rooms and halls, or the sparkling Amsterdam Diamond Museum for an insight into the gemstone and its history as a symbol of wealth, power and beauty. We could also take it easy with a relaxing Amsterdam cruise. We then bid farewell to Holland as we catch our return overnight ferry back to the UK.
