Based at our hotel on the shores of Lake Achensee, we can enjoy the glittering sights of the lake, glassware, crystals and the Zugspitze summit. SUGGESTED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival Day 2 Innsbruck & Swarovski Crystal World We enjoy a guided tour of Innsbruck, followed by a visit to the glittering Swarovski Crystal World. Day 3 Lake Achensee, Rattenberg & Mayrhofen Following a horse-drawn carriage ride along the shores of Lake Achensee, we head to Rattenberg for a glass- blowing demonstration at Kisslinger Kristall-Glas and some free time. In the afternoon, we travel to the bustling ski resort of Mayrhofen, with some time at leisure. Day 4 Lake Achensee We spend the day at leisure. Day 5 Zugspitze Cable Car We travel to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and enjoy a ride on the Zugspitze Cable Car, with the panorama of 400 mountain peaks spanning four countries at the summit. Day 6 Departure
Known as Austria’s Lake District, the area around Salzburg offers scenic lakeside towns and picturesque mountain backdrops. Our visits include the stunning St Bartholomew’s Church, the Salt Mines in Berchtesgaden and Kaiservilla, which was the summer residence of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth. SUGGESTED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival Day 2 Salzburg Today we visit Salzburg for a guided walking tour of the historic city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 3 Berchtesgaden We enjoy a boat ride across Lake Königssee to St Bartholomä, where we admire the baroque pilgrimage church. After time for lunch in Berchtesgaden, we visit the Salt Mine for a guided tour. A miners’ train takes us underground before we sail across the underground salt lake. followed by Bad Ischl for a guided tour of the Kaiservilla. We finish our day in St Wolfgang.
