Our approach to athletics is rooted in the same values that guide everything at Cathedral: respect, perseverance, reflection, and community. We believe in coaching the whole boy. That means holding a high bar for effort, not just outcomes. It means helping boys understand that success is about more than scores or trophies. It’s about character.

take on captain roles. Others model resilience, fairness, and focus in quiet but steady ways. They know how to rally a team after a tough loss, and they know how to win with humility. They understand that leadership isn’t always loud, but it is always earned. Each day, we watch boys learn to trust one another, take responsibility, and recognize their own growth. We see moments of quiet courage, unexpected teamwork, and genuine care. These lessons stay with them long after the season ends. And we feel lucky to be on the sidelines as they learn. WE COACH THE WHOLE BOY. WE BELIEVE IN EFFORT OVER EGO AND IN BUILDING CHARACTER THROUGH ACCOUNTABILITY.
