Cathedral School for Boys. Lukas immediately recognized the importance of this work. Together we began planning a way to bring the broader Cathedral School community into the conversation. LAUNCHING A MOVEMENT Just six months later, on March 15, 2025, Cathedral School hosted a pioneering conference: Raising Connected Boys in a Disconnected World. The event focused on two core goals: 1. Raising awareness of the societal forces impacting boys’ emotional well-being and relationships. 2. Uniting experts, educators, parents, and policymakers in exploring how we can collectively support Gen Z and Gen Alpha boys as they grow into adulthood. Recognizing that these challenges are universal, Cathedral School opened the
conference to families from across the Bay Area. Several elected officials — including a U.S. Congressman, the President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and the City Attorney of San Francisco — also attended. A LASTING IMPACT The response was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees left informed, inspired, and ready to take action. Their reflections spoke volumes: • A mother shared a new appreciation for her son’s emotional needs, realizing they require as much care and attention as her daughter’s. • A father expressed gratitude for the men’s workshop, describing the power of hearing men speak openly in a safe space. • One parent witnessed an immediate shift that evening when her husband connected with their son in a more intentional, emotionally open way. • A San Francisco high school leader
