I moved from West Marin into a farmhouse in Montana, where I consulted for brands such as Hipcamp and Sitka Gear, tended our pollinator garden, and enjoyed the company of our adventurous dog and spirited cat. In 2021 we traded the Greater Yellowstone for the Arctic and moved to the Lofoten Islands of Norway, 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. We now live in a small farming village surrounded by dramatic mountains and the sea. Life here is quiet and simple. We started Arctic Dreams Retreats, and I continue to study shorebirds and songbirds, consult for outdoor brands such as GORE-TEX, and tell stories about birds, wild places, and the environment. If you ever find yourself headed to Lofoten, let me know.

CHARLES POST ’02
Since 2021 I have been living in New York City, where I currently serve as vice president of investor relations at ElmTree Funds, a private equity real estate firm managing more than $7 billion in assets. I am responsible for managing institutional investor relationships, raising capital, and equipping our investors with the information they need to make strategic decisions. Interestingly, I did not originally set out to work in commercial real estate; I thought I would end up in politics. After spending a summer on Capitol Hill working for U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois), I realized it was not the policy debates that captivated me, but the flow of capital and investment trends. That realization led me to an internship at Cassidy Turley (now Cushman & Wakefield) in Northern Virginia, and eventually to graduate studies in real estate finance at Georgetown University before making the leap into private equity. Outside of ElmTree, I have been fortunate to mentor MBA students through the Wharton School and the Zell / Lurie Real Estate Center, an opportunity that has been both humbling and rewarding. Hello CSB! After completing my graduate studies in ecology at the University of California, Berkeley, I launched a consulting business focused on environmental communications and brand strategy. Around the same time, I began creating wildlife conservation films and started an Instagram page (@charles_post) to share these stories and offer a glimpse into our life and adventures. Along the way, I met my wife, Rachel Pohl, a fine artist, designer, and the founder of Rachel Pohl Art.
