The graveyard is surrounded by a white wooden fence. This final resting place is set amid piles of elephant seals, continuously producing their rude bodily sounds and little clutches of fur seals youngsters arfing and bluff-charging anything that moves. The green hills rise to the mountains beyond with white caps on their rocky tops. We thought, “what a perfect setting for ‘The Boss’ to take his rest.” However, he would probably prefer a harsher spot, covered in snow and ice devoid of life and activity. South Georgia in summer looks altogether too “soft” for him. The soccer field proved that though whalers and fishermen worked very hard, they also played hard as well. However, it is hard to imagine that they could have played outside all year long.
