Antarctica Adventure - 2002

We visited the Anglican Cathedral, a large and grand church made of stones and fronted with crossed whale ribs as an entryway to the gardens.

The little Catholic church was surprisingly simple and made of wood. There were many flowers blooming and the streets were neat and spotless Many of the houses are kit structures. The kits were donated and shipped to the Falklanders after the l982 War by Swedish citizens. Our guide said that most of them were actually too well insulated for the Falklands as they are fairly temperate islands.
