MEASURE TWICE. ORDER ONCE.
A great look is built
Even though you may know your standard size, it’s always a good idea to take your measurements before ordering your uniform items. Styles and fabrics (not to mention bodies) can change from one year to the next.
WOMEN
MEN
BUST: Measure under the arms and around the fullest part of the bust. WAIST: Measure around the narrowest part of the natural waistline (just above the hip bones). HIPS:
NECK: Measure around the base of the neck, where a collared shirt would fit. CHEST:
at a time.
Measure across the fullest part of the chest, under the arms and across the back. WAIST: Measure over the shirt at the waistline, where pants are normally worn. Tighten the tape as snug as you prefer your pants to fit. INSEAM: Measure from the inseam to the top of the shoe.
Measure around the fullest part of the hips (normally 7” to 8” below the natural waistline). SLEEVE LENGTH: Measure from the center of the outside collar over the shoulder, around the elbow, to the point where the sleeve should end (usually the bottom of the wrist bone).
They might be the last things you put on in the morning, but your shoes should still be a high priority. Not only do they complete the uniform, but they can also go a long way toward improving your safety and comfort on the job.
GIVE DIRT A SWIFT KICK. It’s easy to overlook your shoes when you’re on the job. But they’re an important part of presenting a professional, uniform appearance. Make sure they’re black, clean, free from scuffs, and in good repair. Also, even though you don’t have to buy them through Averitt, your work shoes should still meet certain parameters. (No cowboy boots, loafers, or sneakers.)
TIP: If you don’t have a measuring tape, mark your measurements on a piece of string or yarn and measure it against a yardstick or fabric measuring tape.
