The 7 calendar days begins from the day after the completion of the training e.g. if a training is completed on Monday, the first calendar day would be the Tuesday.

No, there is no longer a requirement for a Training Provider to publish course participant satisfaction programme results on their website.

How do I ensure that participants have access to the GWO participant feedback survey?
GWO will directly send surveys to the participants following the submission of their training record to WINDA. However, the training provider must tell the participants to expect to receive the survey in their email and tell them where they can access the survey online if they are unable to receive the survey via email because they did not pass training. The address of the link for that survey is included in the purpose statement document on the GWO website under:
Governance>Requirements for Training V15> Participant Survey Purpose Statement .
Note: Participants have access to the survey in their WINDA profile .

What does “any other participant feedback programme which pertains to GWO training” mean?
This describes any type of participant data that is collected by the TP to assess a participant’s experience of training delivery of a GWO module.

Can Training Providers access the data from the participant feedback survey that GWO sends out?
Yes. Some of the participant feedback from the survey will be made available to the training providers to review.
The data from the participant feedback survey will only be visible to
GWO and the
individual training provider it refers to.
The average net promoter score feedback (the star rating out of 10) will be updated automatically with each survey response. The previous 5 -star rating system which was an average of three different ratings is no longer in use. The remainder of the participant feedback that will be available to the training providers (sections 4 and 5 of the survey) will be published one month after the quarter in which the response was submitted in.
Participant feedback will be bundled together and published in batches to protect the anonymity of the respondents.

I have a digital setting on my certificate but only deliver digital training in the knowledge domain, do I need to maintain this setting on my certificate? If I use digital technology to deliver knowledge but deliver practical training in a mobile, fixed or onsite setting, do I need to have an audit for a digital setting? Some training standards use the term simulator for delivery of the training within the digital setting, what constitutes a simulator?
No, the use of digital technology to deliver training within the knowledge domain does not require a digital setting audit or certification. See knowledge domain in the GWO taxonomy.

No, the training provider is only required to retain the gap analysis for auditing purposes.

Can I still use the POCD to qualify instructors?
Yes, the POCD can still be used to qualify instructors if it meets the following steps: Must meet the instructor qualifications dictated by the module to be delivered. Depending on the instructor’s background knowledge and experience, one option is for the instructor to follow the POCD process:
a.i Participate: The trainee instructor must successfully complete the training as a course participant in the module and receive a Training Record in WINDA a.ii Observe: The trainee instructor must observe the full module training. The task is to observe the delivery of training, observe interaction between the instructor and course participants, and observe how participants engage with the material a.iii Co -deliver: The trainee instructor must deliver parts of the training supported by a supervising instructor. Prior to the training, the trainee instructor and the supervising instructor must plan together which parts of the training will be delivered by wh om. The focus is on ensuring that the trainee instructor is able to deliver all parts of the training a.iv Deliver under observation (assessment): The trainee instructor must now independently deliver the full module training under observation for assessment by an experienced GWO instructor, GWO approved auditor with IQT, or internal auditor with IQT. The asses sor must verify and document that the trainee instructor demonstrates instructor knowledge, skills and abilities as detailed in 8.1.4 (below)

When an instructor completes the module specific qualification do I need to upload the completed Instructor Qualification Assessment Form into WINDA?
No, uploading of the form into WINDA is only required as part of the annual competency assessment of instructors. It is optional if a training provider wishes to upload the form for a new instructor. However, note that clause 8.1.3 requires the training provider to retain the completed form as documentation for auditing purposes.

When do I need to fill out an Instructor Qualification Assessment Form?
A training provider must fill out the Instructor Qualification Assessment Form every time an instructor delivering training on their behalf is assessed, this includes: 1. Initial qualification of instructors 2. Annual assessment of instructors 3. Qualifying existing instructors to deliver additional GWO modules instructor competency assessment for each instructor that delivers GWO training on their behalf. The assessment must be against the criteria described in clause 8.1.3 and documented using the Instructor Qualification Assessment Form. Do I need to conduct a competency assessment of all of my instructors every 12 months?

When conducting an annual assessment of an instructor, do I need to witness them delivering the entire training?
The annual assessment is carried out against the criteria stated in clause 8.1.3 confirm and document that the instructor is competent to deliver the full training module. This means that as a minimum the training provider assesses: • delivery of theoretical elements to the correct taxonomic level • delivery of practical elements to the correct taxonomic level • Formative evaluation of participant performance • Summative evaluation of participant performance • Application of feedback and coaching the training provider is required to

This means that a training provider may witness portions of the training to conduct an assessment. For example, if an instructor is being assessed against the GWO blade repair module, the training provider would not need to witness the delivery of the entire 9-days of training . Rather the training provider would likely assess the start of the course one or two days throughout the course and the completion of the course to ensure that all of the above points are being met. No, as long as they meet the requirements stipulate d in clause 8.2.3 they do not need to attend a refresher training to maintain their WINDA Training Record. The training provider should renew the record and retain documentation as proof of the instructor meeting the clause for auditing purposes. In accordance clause 6.1.1, the training provider must determine the staff roles, responsibilities and authorities including for instructor competencies. This is then validated during auditing. In some instances, national or regional legislation may require specific qualifications for persons assessing instructor competencies.

No, the IQT and IQTX are part of the
initial instructor qualification and apply to new
instructors only . Instructional background is an enduring qualification and

No this is optional . Existing instructors qualifying to deliver additional GWO modules, are still required to undergo the competency assessment every 12 months . Qualifying for new module can be used as the annual competency assessment stipulated in clause 8.2.4 , in which case the completed Instructor Qualification Assessment Form must be uploaded into WINDA . If the training provider wishes not to use the additional module qualification as the annual competency assessment of the instructor, then they must still conduct the annual assessment of the instructor for an existing module in line with the requirements outlined in clause 8.2.4.

How do I ensure that participants are adequately warmed up prior to training?

First aid trained person requirement has been removed, does this mean that there is no requirement for a first aid trained person to be present during practical training?
No, t he requirement for first aid trained person has been moved to section 8.1.3 Instructor Qualification, meaning that all instructors must have a first aid qualification.

Does the clause 9.1.10b mean there can be more than 28 days between the delivery of elements when delivering refresher training?
Yes, for refresher training there may elapse more than 28 days between the delivery of elements.

What do auditors need to cover when conducting an audit of the REcognition scheme?
The audit must validate that the training provider has developed processes that conform to section 10 of the Requirements for Training . The focus shall be on the processes outlined in 10.1.2 a-e. The audit does not need include validation of a gap analysis conducted by the training provider. As a minimum a GWO instructor who meets the requirements to deliver the module being analysed against. However, other persons with appro priate qualifications such as a curriculum developer working for the legacy provider may also complete the gap analysis. It is important that this is specified in the REcognition provider’s process. Yes, each participant must sign the form following training completion , including participants who have not successfully completed the training. The sign ing can be done digitally as long as the digital signature can be traced to the participant.

The learning objectives are found in the
GWO training standards and module that is
being trained. The level to which a learning objective is set is found in the GWO taxonomy i n the annex of the GWO Requirements for Training.

When does someone fail an assessment?
For both the instructor assessment and participant assessment, the person being assessed is graded as not yet meeting the requirements if they score a zero in any of the categories. This constitutes a fail.

The GWO Requirements for Training have become a lot longer, is there a reason for this?
Yes, the latest version has additional sections, e.g. the REcognition, a full change log and a comprehensive terms and definitions section added.

Is there a 6 -month grace period for the implementation of the new GWO Requirements?
Yes, except for incident reporting. Any incidents must be reported following the new incident definitions. The new definitions are built into GWO incident reporting portal on the GWO website.
