Do existing GWO instructors who have not completed the IQT or IQTX need to complete the IQT or IQTX? When an existing GWO instructor qualifies for an additional GWO module, does the training Provider need to upload the completed Instructor Qualification Assessment Form for the new module into WINDA?
No, the IQT and IQTX are part of the
initial instructor qualification and apply to new
instructors only . Instructional background is an enduring qualification and
does not
need to be taken again.
RT 8.3.3
No this is optional . Existing instructors qualifying to deliver additional GWO modules, are still required to undergo the competency assessment every 12 months . Qualifying for new module can be used as the annual competency assessment stipulated in clause 8.2.4 , in which case the completed Instructor Qualification Assessment Form must be uploaded into WINDA . If the training provider wishes not to use the additional module qualification as the annual competency assessment of the instructor, then they must still conduct the annual assessment of the instructor for an existing module in line with the requirements outlined in clause 8.2.4.
Note: the 12 -month period in WINDA resets from the latest upload.

First aid trained person requirement has been removed, does this mean that there is no requirement for a first aid trained person to be present during practical training?
No, t he requirement for first aid trained person has been moved to section 8.1.3 Instructor Qualification, meaning that all instructors must have a first aid qualification.

Does the clause 9.1.10b mean there can be more than 28 days between the delivery of elements when delivering refresher training?
Yes, for refresher training there may elapse more than 28 days between the delivery of elements.

Do I need to retain documentation for
when a person
This will depend on the local legislation . When permitted by local legislation it is recommended that you retain documentation until completion of the training.

Does clause 9.3.1 mean that there is no instructor to participant ratio for training delivered using e - learning ? Do I need to use the GWO Participant Performance Assessment Form to assess participants or can I use my own?
Yes, for the portion of training delivered using asynchronous e -learning there is no instructor to participant ratio.
