SOUTH COURSE
The South Course, designed by legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., is our championship course and opened for play on October 8, 1959. Following a 2020 renovation by architect Andrew Green, the South Course is a great test of golfer’s skills and plays a monstrous 7,521 yards.
NORTH COURSE
Designed by revered architect Dick Wilson, the North Course opened for play in 1961. While shorter than the South Course, the North Course still provides a great test of golf while playing a modest 6,390 yards.
RACQUETS FACILITY
Wilmington is home to an award-winning racquets facility that boasts over thirty courts, including eleven clay courts, two outdoor hard courts, two bentgrass tennis courts, five indoor tennis courts, four indoor pickleball courts, four paddleball courts, as well as a squash facility.
CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF history in the making After hosting the 1913 U.S. Women’s Amateur on what is now known as the “Old Course,” Wilmington has hosted five other USGA events, including the 1965 and 1978 U.S. Junior Amateur, the 1971 U.S. Amateur, the 1978 U.S. Girls’ Junior and the 2003 U.S. Mid-Amateur. The club also hosted the 2013 Palmer Cup competition between Europe and a United States team that featured 2019 BMW Championship winner Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger. In 2022, we were proud to play host to the BMW Championship.

JONATHAN URBANSKI Director of Golf Courses and Grounds
Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, 2025 will be Jon’s seventh year at Wilmington Country Club. A graduate of Moravian University and the University of Maryland, Jon is a former president of the Philadelphia Association of Golf Course Superintendents and has mentored numerous professionals in reaching their goals in becoming golf course superintendents. Prior to arriving at Wilmington, Jon was the Superintendent at Bidermann Golf Club in Wilmington, DE and The Suburban Club in Baltimore, MD.

CODY SANDER North Course Superintendent
Tom has been the South Course Superintendent since May of 2021. Originally from Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, Tom is a graduate of Rutgers University. Prior to Wilmington, Tom held positions at Philadelphia Cricket Club, Llanerch Country Club, Rolling Green Golf Club, and Radley Run Country Club.
2025 will be Cody’s seventh season at the club, working his way from Student Intern, to Assistant Superintendent, to North Course Superintendent. Originally from Damascus, Maryland, Cody is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University .Prior to arriving at WCC, Cody held positions at Bonita Bay Club and Montgomery Country Club.

Originally from Rising Sun, Maryland, 2025 will be Braden’s fifth season at the club. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Braden previously held positions at Winters Run Golf Club and Chesapeake Bay Golf Club.
Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Nick has been at Wilmington since March of 2022. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Nick previously held positions at the Ford Field and River Club and Glenmaura National Golf Club.
GAVIN KOPCZYNSKIE South Course Assistant Superintendent
JOSHUA MULDOWNEY North Course Assistant Superintendent
Gavin has been at Wilmington since May of 2022. Originally from Freeland, Pennsylvania, Gavin is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. Prior to Wilmington, Gavin held positions at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club and Liberty National Golf Club.
Josh is a native of Syracuse, New York, and has been at the club since June of 2023. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Josh previously held positions at Penn National Golf Club and The Peninsula Club.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE mentorship and expertise The internship program at Wilmington Country Club will take you through the heart of the golf season in the Mid-Atlantic. The climatic conditions of the region make it a challenging, yet extremely beneficial experience for your career. You will be mentored and exposed to all of the necessities to maintain a high-end private country club.
INTERNSHIP DUTIES learning through experience
Learning to operate all types of equipment utilized on course
Applying plant protectants using the latest GPS technology
Assist with chemical inventory and understanding of budget management
Repair basic to advanced irrigation problems
Understand hand watering to promote firm conditions for greens, tees, and fairways
Small project development and execution
Understand grass tennis playability standards
Learn to calibrate spreaders and GPS sprayers
Become knowledgeable in reel mower technology
Exposure to front and back of clubhouse departments along with golf operations

Golf course interns are required to be enrolled in either an accredited two or four year institution in a field of study related to golf turf management
A competitive hourly wage of $16.50/hour plus overtime
Uniforms, lunch, and golf privileges
No cost housing within a five minute drive from the Club
Volunteer at either a PGA Tour, USGA, or LPGA Tour event
Opportunity to lead the staff for one week at the end of the internship
