ROUND + SCORING DETAILS
Welcome to The Scott Burnett Open! We truly appreciate you coming out to play. We want to take a minute to remind you that this is a PDGA sanctioned event with many competitors. Please read below carefully for further details.
PDGA RULES As this is a PDGA sanctioned event, all rules will be enforced at all times, no exceptions. It is your responsibility to know and understand the PDGA rules.
CLICK HERE FOR THE OFFICIAL PDGA RULES
SCORING PDGA Live Scoring will be used for this tournament. You are strongly urged to log-in and keep score yourself, even if someone else is keeping score for the card. If at least two (2) cards are running and there is a conflicting score, it will not allow you to submit scores until the conflict is resolved. It is 100% on you, the player, to ensure the score being submitted for you is correct and submitted on-time. Even if someone else submitted it wrong, it is still falls to you to ensure your score it correct before being submitted.
To ensure you don’t fall subject to unneeded strokes, everyone is encouraged to keep a back-up card.
6
ROUND + SCORING DETAILS
POOLS + ASSIGNMENTS It is each players responsibility to check the PDGA event site for your individual tee time and to be at the course on- time. Tournament staff will strive to have tee times posted on the PDGA website the night before your round, but as last minute changes can occur, please check the site every morning to verify your course and individual tee time for the day. https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/67164
GUIDELINES AND RULES OF NOTE Pedestrians. Pedestrians always have the right of way. If you are even in doubt, wait.
Respect the course. Please pack it in and pack it out. We have an opportunity to show the parks department’s that we can have a huge event and still leave the parks in awesome, or better shape than when we arrived.
Respect your group. Everyone paid to play in this event; treat each round as such. Be quiet while others are throwing. Do not walk in front of the group that is out. Consider line of sight on other holds. If you are traveling and see someone throwing on another hole, they can most likely see you; so hold up and let them take their shot.
Pace of play. Remember, this is a tee time round. About 10 minutes after you tee off, another group will be starting. It is important you keep in mind a good pace of play as the courses are full.
Provisionals. If there is a disagreement, try to work it out within the group, inside of the PDGA rules. The link for the full PDGA rules is on the opposite page. If you aren’t able to come to an agreement, don’t stand on the course and argue. This is where you are to throw a provisional shot. We cannot review photos, so all players on the card will need to make note of what they observed. After the round is complete, the entire group will need to wait and speak to the course’s respective Tournament Director. We will make sure the right call is made.
Lost and found. We will post daily on our Facebook event page any lost and found items from the event. These items will then make their way to the Hazy Shade store. Please pick them up as soon as you can.
Out of Bounds (OB). An OB line has no thickness. If any part of your disc is on the line, you are in. That said, the term “surrounded by” means that if you can see either water or a solid surface around your disc, you are out of bounds. An example of this would be a weed that may grow out on a walk and your disc landed on it. If you can see the walk all around your disc, it is OB. In the same regard, if you land on a rock in the middle of a creek, even though your disc is dry, if the rock is surrounded by water, you are OB. Rain delays. We will play in rain, but if there is any lightning, you MUST mark your shot and leave the course immediately. Play will be suspended until it is safe to resume play. If this would occur early in the day and delay play, we will post online delays. It is still your responsibility to be on-time when your card tees off, so please be a few minutes early, not late.

A.O. FISHER COURSE OVERVIEW
ARTHUR O. FISHER DISC GOLF COURSE
WELCOME This course is open to the public and is a privilege to our community. Please respect the land by not altering the trees or shrubs. Put all your trash and any litter you see in the appropriate trash receptacles. Disc golf is played like ball golf, but players throw a disc from a tee pad to an elevated metal basket to complete each hole. One stroke is counted each time the disc is thrown. The object of the game is to complete the course in the least number of throws, the lowest score. RULES • Park visitors have the right-of-way • DO NOT THROW until hole is clear • Yell “Fore” immediately for throws that may hit others • Limit card to five (5) players and allow fast groups to play through • Do not leave children unattended on the course • Drugs and alcohol are prohibited in the park COURSE Please reference UDisc for current course layout with tee and pin locations and course par.

Scott Burnett
PDGA # 20173
The Beginning Scott Burnett, PDGA #20173, and currently rated 1001 has been playing disc golf since 1997 when some close friends persuaded him into what would become his passion. Throughout his career he has played over 100 courses in 10 states, participated in over 80 events, and earned over 120 aces. Out of these events, in 14 of which Scott has taken first place.
The Moment
Amateur Nationals in 2002 stands out above the rest. It is significant not only because it was the first nationals to ever take place and he was triumphant, but because it drew his family closer together. His mother, Ann, caddied for him during the tournament, offering words of encouragement and sage advice that Scott attributes to his win. His father (Cleady) and his mother’s support for his disc golf career has united his family. The icing on the cake was the opportunity to be featured in Sports Illustrated, as one of the first disc golfer to grace its pages.
Sports Illustrated October 2002
The Future
Hunter Burnett
Scott continues to look forward to the future of disc golf and begins that investment through teaching his with his own son, Hunter. Hunter, now aged 6, plays full rounds with him and is inspiring his big sister, Dylan, to also join the game. He also gives back to the sport by providing discs to those who could not afford them and building handmade stone platforms to raise baskets to provide new challenges to local players. Scott’s passion for the sport is evident and the love for his family fuels him as he continues to pioneer the sport, bringing new blood onto the course and working alongside his sponsors Legacy Discs, and Hazy Shade.
