Location Selection
Workplace/Commercial Locations:
Siting and installation processes are determined by property ownership and type of land use. Important factors for assessing workplace and commercial locations include:
Parking Capacity: EVs need several hours to fully charge. We will evaluate the most suitable locations to accommodate stations, while safekeeping stalls for gasoline powered vehicles.
Proximity to Workplace and/or Destination: Install EV stations in locations where drivers will spend ample time—for business or pleasure—while their EV charges.
Transit Connections: Link EV station locations to various modes of transportation (sidewalks, bus or metro stops and park and rides); this invites easy accessibility to other destinations.
Power Availability: Proximity to electric power service impacts cost of installation.
Buildability: Construction and installation will vary based on necessary trenching, conduit runs and landscape features.
Mounting: Sites with suitable wall areas can support wall mount units (typically a less expen- sive choice).
Environmental Protection: Protect EV charging equipment from locations exposed to stand- ing water or potential flooding.
