• Tribal Officials are Elected, which means as Individuals, they are Constantly Under Political Pressure by the Electorate • They are Blamed for Everything that Goes Wrong within the Tribe • They are Expected to “Do Something” about Everything that Goes Wrong or is Believed to Have Gone Wrong
Pressures on Tribal Elected Officials
• They are Expected to Address Every Imaginable Problem, Issue, or Situation, and • Every Possible Complaint, Rumor, Problem, and Oddball Situation is Brought to their Attention. • Tribal Officials must be Accountable to their Constituents or they Risk Re- Election • Their Every Action or Reaction is Subject to Scrutiny and Criticism
