Community or Workplace Partner Michigan Department of Natural Resources Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources partnered with Gift of Life last year to ask anglers and hunters if they are a registered organ donor when they apply for new fish or game licenses.

Taking Initiative Aimee Yates, Ann Arbor As a new clinical nurse supervisor last year at Michigan Medicine, Aimee Yates saw great potential to empower her unit’s nursing staff and build a much-needed culture of donation.

Armond Baskin needs a kidney transplant. In between dialysis, his job and his family life, he finds time to help educate high school students in the Genesee County area about organ donation and kidney failure.

Educator April Barnier, Ypsilanti Ypsilanti science teacher April Barnier has embraced Gift of Life’s award-winning All of Us high school education program like no other educator. She has hosted the program five times at Lincoln High School.

Faith-based Leader Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint Co-ministers Lynn and Jerry Kerr at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint opened their church doors to Gift of Life for a faith-based video shoot, then shared it at services and on social media.

First Responder Detective Trooper Alex Martinez, Warren

Detective Trooper Alex Martinez helped Gift of Life find the family of a patient with no known relatives. He found one, who said yes to donation and the donor saved three lives.
