Pete, ’48, and Sadie Kooistra-Ack- ley '48, look back on one year of serv ice for the Lord under the S.I.M., Box 220, Khartoum, E. Africa. There have been trials and testings all along the way; for all of these they offer thanks to God for what has been accomplished. Arabic study has been hard; some natives have expressed a desire for private lessons in English. They have been told that this is im possible, but they have been invited to attend the church services and fa miliarize themselves with the English language this way. Clever idea. Pray that the eyes of their understanding may be opened. The Cooke family, Allyn '18, Esther and three children residing at 2190 Mt. Hermon Rd., R. 4, Santa Cruz, Calif., announce several items of in terest. They will soon be returning to C.I.M. headquarters, 238 S. Ave. 51, Los Angeles, where they will make Lisu recordings and engage in deputation work. Their son, Joseph Robinson Cooke, B.Th. ’49, has been ordained to the ministry under the Twin Lakes Conservative Baptist brethren.
