icism celebrates an empty cross on which nothing is nailed. It loves and supports and promotes all the evils that should be nailed to that cross. The world generally has no interest in the Man who died on that cross. To us the cross should say at once that Christ was rejected. He is still “ rejected and by the world disowned, by the many still neglected, and by the few enthroned.” We need to ask our hearts whether we have the Man that the world cast out. The Cross Is a Place of Unveiling 1 Cor. 1:18 Men do not want Jesus Christ. Re ligious men do H o t want a crucified Son of God who is now risen and in His body is seated at God’s right hand to rule. Calvary unveils the ha tred of the human heart. The world wants benevolence and charity but does not want the risen, wounded Man who was on the cross. Nothing could possibly reveal man’s hatred of God like Calvary. But there we re joice to see unveiled God’s love for man. Christ died because He loved; the Father gave because He loved. Let us rejoice in that unveiling. The Cross Is a Place of Love Heb. 12:2 The Saviour knew the depths of human sin and wickedness. He loved lost men as God loved the world. In order to manifest that love, He went to the cross. There we see His desire to change sinners into saints, to undo the work of Satan, to set at liberty men bound by the chains of sin. At the cross we see that God was willing to add to the glory of His Son by the terrible ordeal of Calvary. By means of the cross the Holy Spirit has taught the world again that Christ’s love is beyond comparison. Let us love Him and worship Him.

Rushing To Russians With The Gospel I have just visited Europe where I found great spiritual hunger for the Word of God. We must give the gospel to the Russians, Ukranians and other Slavic-speaking people in Europe, South and North America now. Some doors are closing for gospel work. We must redeem the time. Re lief must be sent to suffering Christians in Europe. We need more mis sionaries in Alaska . . . Peter Deyneka. Pray and send your gift to SLAVIC GOSPEL ASSOCIATION (formerly'Russian Gospel Association) Peter Deyneka, General Director

WHY HELP PAY FOR THE ACCIDENTS OF THOSE WHO DO?

The National Safety Council says that one out of every four fatal traffic accidents involves liquor—that means 8,000 people killed last year— scores of thousands of others injured and mil lions lost in property damage. The living Christ is the joy of the Christian’s heart and the sorrow of the sinner’s soul. The living Lord Jesus on the throne still in His hu man body fills the heart of the Chris tian with hope and gladness and fills the heart of the sinner with fear and apprehension. Every lost man is guilty of the murder of the Saviour. The Man they killed is the Man God put on the throne to judge them. How it behooves every unsaved person to kneel in fear and trembling at the feet of the risen Lord Jesus Christ.
