2024-2025 Reedley College Annual Report

142 Noncredit/Extended Learning Courses Offered in Spring 2025 27 Disciplines 25 Noncredit Certificates of Completion

EXTENDED LEARNING The expanding Reedley College Noncredit/Extended Learning program provides access for under-prepared and underserved populations to develop skills to enhance the quality of home, family, career, and community life of our local citizens and employees. The number of noncredit courses offered and number of students enrolling in those classes has grown steadily each semester from 118 sections scheduled and 453 unduplicated noncredit students enrolled in fall 2024 to 142 sections scheduled, and 517 unduplicated noncredit students enrolled in spring 2025. Part of this growth is our partnerships with Sanger and Selma Adult schools with students completing their Office Assistant, Receptionist, Microsoft Office, or Administrative Assistant Certificates of Completion. Offered for the first time at Sanger Adult was the Explorations in Art and Community Chorus classes for lifelong learning. Selma Adult students began Computer Literacy classes offered through the Reedley College AgTEC program, forging the way for more of this program’s courses in the future. The Physical Education Fitness and Movement for Older Adult classes at these sites remain popular as well.

The Reedley College Physical Education Department also began working with the Professional Development and Mental Health Program’s Wellness Initiative, offering their Weight Training and Aerobics for Older Adults and Yoga Health and Safety for Older Adults classes. These added to the program’s mirrored, for-credit Walking classes for a wide range of physical activity opportunities for our college’s faculty and staff and greater community members. Nearly 20 new mirrored and stand-alone noncredit classes have recently gone through the curriculum vetting process and will be offered in the coming year, among them Literature for Life, Beer Making, Wine Tasting, AI Literacy, and additional Continuing Education Learning Academy courses in competency-based education and designing short-term classes.
