Alternative Provision Service (APS) APS is a well-established local authority (LA) service dedicated to ensuring the quality assurance of approved providers. It facilitates Havering’s schools in commissioning alternative provision and support for vulnerable and complex pupils. APS collaborates closely with headteachers and their staff to prevent exclusions and engage pupils in their education by enhancing attendance, promoting mental health and wellbeing and improving attainment and progression.

By centrally ensuring the quality of alternative provision (AP), schools and academies can commission appropriate interventions for their students.
