ELEMENT 3.1 - WARM-UP

The instructor shall:

Explain control measures for the specific training facilities and training to avoid injury during the training

Lead a warm-up session (see Annex 2 for guidelines on conducting a warm-up session)

The participants shall:

Take part in the warm-up session (based on individual ability)

ELEMENT 3.2 - TRAINING SCENARIO: MAINTENANCE TASK

Learning objectives:

24) The participants can take initiative to warm up prior to daily physical work tasks (Ability, intermediate level)

25) The participants can take responsibility for actions to reduce exposure to vibrating handheld tools, such as job rotation and applying appropriate PPE (anti vibration gloves) (Ability, intermediate) 26) The participants can take initiative to correctly assess and mitigate manual handling risks associated with working over shoulder height by applying manual handling principles (Ability, intermediate level)

27) The participants can take initiative to mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by applying TILE principle, safe work procedures and aids when working while kneeling (Ability, intermediate level)

28) The participants can take initiative to mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by applying TILE principle, safe work procedures and aids when working in awkward postures (Ability, intermediate level)

Scenario description Technicians are tasked with electrical or mechanical work that requires hand tools. For the scenario, participants must overcome ergonomic challenges of working with hand tools, awkward postures and over shoulder height.
