Scenario description The scenario starts with personnel discovering a small solid fuel fire in a storage area. Next, the personnel attempt to fight the fire and fail. After attempting to extinguish the fire, the fire develops and becomes unmanageable, leading to evacuation. Lastly, during evacuation from the smoke-filled environment, one colleague has sustained injuries and needs to be evacuated.
The participants shall:
Select the appropriate fire extinguisher
Perform proper pre-use actions and checks
Effectively deploy the fire extinguisher on the fire
Consider environmental factors and impact on firefighting including restricted spaces, inhalation, and displacement of gases
Evacuate from a smoke-filled area, ensuring that the group evacuates safely
Effectively deploy a fire blanket to extinguish fire on a person (optional dependent on national legislation and scenario)
Perform additional actions, such as evacuation, call for help, and implement emergency response procedures
