shoulders of the other. They promote the comfort of each other. How blessed it would be if, as believers, we were of the same mind and sought to add to each other’s joys; never increasing each other’s burdens. We ought to be like these animals. Most monkeys have long tails. Rea sons for this are rather obvious. By the clever use of their tails monkeys are able to escape from their enemies. The Scriptures tell us how Sampson captured a number of foxes and tied their tails together. He set a firebrand to these tails and turned them loose in the standing grain of the 'Philistines. Whoever would have used tails with which to reap such vengeance and damage? (Judges 15:4 ff). To show the detail Of the Bible, Job 40:17 speaks of the elephant which moves with his tail like a cedar. God causes all animals to move. He made 'them; He designed all the muscles used in moving such a small thing as the tail. The Lord is interested in every detail of nature. Likewise, He made you and He wants you to be at His service; He wants you to let Him con trol your life so that He can make out of you what He wants you to be. Israel is compared as the head, and at other times as the tail, of all the nations. In Solomon’s day Israel was the head,’ but when Jesus was on earth, Israel was the tail. When the Jews rejected Christ, the place was lost among the nations. No more will Israel rule and reign until Christ returns and is received as Lord. Israel is rapidly returning to her place where she will become the head of the nations some day. What is more beautiful than the tail of a peacock? Only God could make such a lovely creation. The design, the blending of the colors, the waving curls, the wonderfully soft texture, these all speak of the marvelous beauty of our wonderful Lord. He who makes these beautiful creatures is more won derful and beautiful than they. Our God delights in beauty. He desires to make each Christian beautiful in life and character. He alone can do it. by Dr. W alter L . W ilson W ho would think that animal tails would have a spiritual message for us? It has 'been said that if you pick up a guinea pig by the tail, its eyes will drop out. No doubt that’s correct, because you see, the guinea pig doesn’t have any tail. Some ani mals have long tails, others have short tails. Some have smooth tails, and some are fuzzy. Some don’t need tails. God certainly used wisdom in arranging tails for the animal world. The tail of a dog tells a remarkable story. The dog’s feelings can be deter mined by watching its tail. The heart is closely connected with that member of its body. A postman had a special delivery let ter for a certain house. There Was a bull dog on the porch barking furious ly. It showed its teeth but its tail was wagging from side to side. The woman came to the door and the m a ilm a n asked, “Lady I don’t know which end of this dog to believe. His mouth shows he hates me but his tail shows he loves me.” The tail does show whether he thinks well of you or doesn’t. There is an interesting kindness existing between cows and horses. When one sees them standing together in the pasture during hot summer days the like animals stand close together but in opposite directions. The tail of one keeps the flies off the neck and
