to Busby. When she watched the duo win Cheyenne last year, Smith said she was “jumping up and down on my couch at home, so excited! “I never would have imagined that, to have a part in two Cheyenne titles in a row,” she said. “It means a lot to me.” Smith rides a handful of horses for Busby Quarter Horses. In fact, she said the Busbys have “pushed me out on the rodeo trail, telling me I needed to go” this season. They arranged for someone to help ride the horses while she’s gone, so the horses wouldn’t fall behind in her absence. “They’ve been a huge support and I couldn’t have done it without them and my husband,” Smith said. “This year has really been something.”
Sue Smith and Dashs Centerfold won the WPRA World Title in the Futurity division in 2016 and now the duo will be taking their talents to the Thomas and Mack for the 65th Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December. WPRA photo by Peggy Gander
