As our Cluster HR Manager, your role is to support the Executive Business Manager and wider business in relation to human resources matters. This role must take the lead in ensuring safer recruitment compliance across the schools and the maintenance of up to date Ofsted ready single central registers for each school. You will also liaise closely with our three Principals of the schools relating to a variety of complex HR matters. This is a role which I expect to be challenging, but also deeply rewarding for an excellent HR professional who is looking for a new opportunity with the potential to make a significant impact. JOB DESCRIPTION

▪ Administer and maintain employee records, work with the Cluster HR Officer and Cluster HRAs to ensure the single central registers are up to date and accurate at all times. ▪ Complete file audits for new starters. ▪ Provide support for new and ongoing Human Resources projects. ▪ Attend and participate in HR meetings as required, travel between the schools is required to meet the needs of the role. ▪ Deputise for the Executive Business Manager as needed in HR matters, advise and support during formal meetings. ▪ Oversee the logging of absence on a daily basis, both for HR and payroll purposes, send relevant reports to line managers and Principals as required, ensure regular analysis of staff absenteeism and support with management of this through OH referrals and welfare meetings. ▪ Lead on the administration of payroll, including (but not limited to) checking and, when necessary, inputting of timesheets, new starters, contract changes and leavers, pay increments and any changes to allowances.

▪ Lead on DBS checks for all cluster schools and ensure all relevant safeguarding paperwork is renewed yearly as per United Learning procedures. ▪ Lead on the accurate completion and submission of the yearly School Workforce Census for all cluster schools. ▪ Full line management of the Cluster HR Officer and Cluster HRAs. ▪ Support with the administration processes in each academy, as needed by the cluster schools. ▪ To support the cluster academies by training for and carrying out first aid duties as needed. ▪ To support the school day and students by carrying out lunch duties as required (a lunch break will still be provided). This job description may be subject to amendment or modification at any time after consultation with the post holder, to reflect the changing needs of the schools.

Support and guidance from an HR Business Partner will be provided when needed. ▪ Support the recruitment process across all schools to ensure compliance with Safer Recruitment legislation. This includes placing adverts, reviewing application forms, arranging interviews, and following up with written confirmation of contractual terms and conditions where relevant. ▪ Ensure that all necessary references and pre- recruitment checks have been completed in line with the Safer Recruitment Policy. ▪ Liaise with cluster schools to ensure that all staff receive appropriate induction and onboarding information. ▪ Create and maintain new staff probation logs and produce probation letters as required. ▪ Arrange the document clearance of agency staff to work in various departments and schools across the cluster.

REPORTS TO: Executive Business Manager, with a dotted line to Principals & Regional Director

OVERVIEW The main purpose of this role is to support the Executive Business Manager and wider business in relation to human resources matters. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ▪ Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Human Resources section of the cluster. ▪ Provide advice and start to end support to line managers, SLT and Principals on all HR issues including but not limited to: TUPE, grievances,

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS • CIPD Qualified – Level 7 preferred, Level 5 accepted with a willingness to study for Level 7. • A record of Continuing Professional Development activities. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE • Demonstrable and significant experience of working in a busy HR environment. • HR advisory experience of complex employee relations cases. • Demonstrable experience of working in a customer facing role and delivering excellent standards of service. • Experience of dealing with matters confidentially and sensitively. • Experience of recruitment and onboarding processes. • Current knowledge of data protection and safeguarding legislation. • Line management experience.

SKILLS, BEHAVIOUR AND QUALITIES • Excellent written and verbal

communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong ability to work accurately with attention to detail. • Ability to take comprehensive and accurate notes/minutes. • Demonstrate critical judgement and problem-solving skills, using initiative to provide information and support, and referring issues as necessary. • Strong prioritisation and organisations to effectively manage a busy workload. • Ability to work effectively and contribute to the wider teams. • Demonstrate professional behaviour at all times, remaining calm in potentially challenging or sensitive situations. • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the schools. • Willingness to carry out additional routine duties to support the schools – being a first-aid trained staff member and supporting the staff body with lunchtime duties.
