Day 1: Depart the USA Depart the USA for Nice, France. Meals and refreshments served on board your flight. Day 2: Arrival in Nice, France Upon arrival in Nice, proceed to immigration, baggage claim, and after clearing customs you will be met by the tour director and transferred to the hotel. Spend the rest of your day enjoying the festive spirit of this lovely city from its idyllic beaches to the medieval Old Town filled with art, music and culinary delights waiting to be discovered. Check-in to your hotel, relax or go out and explore. Your tour director can answer your questions regarding nearby attractions but be back in time for the Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant! (D) Day 3: Nice – Half Day Walking Tour After breakfast take a guided morning walking tour through the most famous attraction in Old Nice-- the lively open market "Cours Saleya.” France's National Council for the Culinary Arts has awarded special status to this market. Explore Nice’s Old Town, a characterful district in the south of the city pastel colorful street. Discover the” socca” truly authentic "cuisine niçoise." (B) Day 4: Nice – Eze-Monaco & Monte Carlo Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a full day tour to Eze, Monaco & Monte Carlo. On the way to Monaco, enjoy the panoramic drive along the coast, over Nice, Villefranche bay, and Monaco. Stop in Eze, an amazing medieval village perched on a rocky hill above the sea. With narrow cobblestone, pedestrian-only streets, beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the azure water below, it is just as it was centuries ago. Stroll in the tiny streets, see the changing of guards precisely at 11:55A, or perhaps visit the Oceanographic Museum, the Prince’s Palace, and the Cathedral. Along the way, there is free time for lunch and then our Cultural Discovery Series with a visit to the Fragonard perfumery to discover the trade secrets of fragrances and the history of perfume- making from its beginnings to the present day. You can feel the history and artistic creativity of this enchanting place. Its cobbled stone streets, many galleries and nice view overlooking the sea make it a unique place. Continue to Medieval village Medieval village Tourette Sur Loup, installed on a rocky buttress, overhanging precipices. Also known as the City of Violets, this village became a meeting place for musicians, painters, writers, and poets in the mid-1920s. Today, more than thirty
workshops and galleries make the village a Mecca of art and crafts on the Riviera. Then Discover Gourdon one of the most beautiful perch villages in France and admire a breathtaking panoramic view of the Riviera. You will visit the castle, built in the 9th century, and its sumptuous garden, designed by Lenôtre. After a full day of touring, return to the hotel where the evening is free at your leisure. (B) Day 6: Nice -Menton – San Remo Italian Markets Enjoy your breakfast early because today we embark on a is a full day tour to Menton and the San Remo Italian markets by private coach. San Remo is one of the most famous cities of the Ligurian Riviera, often called the capital of flowers and Italian music. Every February, the city hosts the Italian Song Festival, which once opened with vocal stars as Toto Cutugno and Adriano Celentano. Midday we have time for shopping at the market where there are vendors selling clothes, accessories, household goods and food. Enjoy an Italian lunch. As we make our way back we make a stop in Menton. Menton, the last French Riviera town before you reach Italy, is one of the Côte d'Azur's most blissful stops, Menton is a city rich in history where tradition, culture and relaxation come together. Menton will charm you with its aromas and colors. Many interesting international events take place here, as well as the famous Lemon Festival. We drive back to in the late afternoon as your evening is free to discover or rest (B) Day 7: Nice – Free Day or Optional Tour Today after breakfast this morning use the day to relish in the beauty of the town on your own or join the optional full day tour to St. Tropez with sightseeing of this international tourist capital of the world and a thousand-year-old vineyard and winery of the region. In the evening, raise a toast to the end of your adventure as the group gathers for a “bon voyage” dinner at a local restaurant. Day 1 Depart USA Depart New York JFK for Cairo. Meals and refreshments served on board. Day 2 Cairo Arrive in the Land of the Pharaohs. At Cairo International Airport you will be welcomed and assisted through immigration, visa purchase and customs by your tour director, then escorted to your hotel. Evening on your own to settle- in and start getting acquainted with the destination. Day 3 Cairo After breakfast you will start your day with exploring the Citadel of Saladin, a medieval fortification, including the marvelous Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Drive to Old Cairo to visit Al Moallaka Church (Hanging Church) and Ben Ezra Synagogue. After lunch in a local restaurant, you will visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. Your visit to the museum will include a collection of Pharaonic artifacts and the treasures of King Tutankhamen's tomb. Overnight in Cairo. (B,L) Day 4 Cairo/Luxor - Cruise Grab your breakfast box and early morning transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival you will be escorted to your Nile cruise ship. Savor lunch on board before heading out with your guide to visit the impressive Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple. The Temple of Karnak, located on the East bank of the Nile, was built by several great kings of Egypt including King Ramses II, King Tutmosis III, and Queen Hatshepsut. It was dedicated to the triad of Thebes: God Amun Ra, goddess Mut, and God Khonsu. Luxor Temple was dedicated to the god Amun and contains structures from many periods, the earliest dating back to the 12th Dynasty. Back on board, enjoy dinner. Overnight in Luxor. (B,L,D) Day 5 Cruise After breakfast you will visit the West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings. The ancient Egyptians built massive public monuments for their pharaohs. They also spent time creating concealed underground tombs full of treasures. The most famed collection of such intricate tombs, the Valley of the Kings, became a royal burial ground for pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II, as well as queens, high priests, and other elites of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties. Then see the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. Prior to leaving the Valley of the Kings, you visit an Alabaster workshop (Cultural Discovery Series) to see how vases and statues are made in the traditional ancient styles. Lunch on board, in the evening welcome cocktail party followed by dinner on board. Sailing to Edfu passing through the Esna Lock. Overnight in Edfu. (B,L,D) Day 6 Cruise Breakfast on board. Today you will visit Edfu Temple dedicated to Horus, the Falcon God. Totally submerged under the desert except for the very top of the pylon entrance, it is ancient Egypt’s most complete and best - preserved temple. A small amount of stone had been removed from the exposed part, but when excavated it was found to be in near perfect condition. Enjoy lunch on board and in the afternoon, you will visit Kom Ombo with its magnificent temple overlooking the river Nile. This Ptolemaic Temple is the only double temple in Egypt shared by two gods, the crocodile - headed God Sobek, and the falcon - headed God Horus. The temple has two entrances, two courts, two colonnades, two Hypostyle halls and two sanctuaries, one side for each god. This evening, enjoy a Galabeya Party after dinner. You are encouraged to shop and wear “The Galabeya”, traditional Egyptian garments native to the Nile Valley. Overnight in Aswan. (B,L,D) Day 7 Cruise After breakfast on board, you will visit Aswan’s High Dam, an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960’s. The dam was completed in 1971 and the huge reservoir behind it, named for President Nasser, was finished filling in 1979. The High Dam provided about half of the electricity production in Egypt, bringing power to most of Egypt’s villages for the first time. By regulating the flow of the river, the dam also increased the cultivatable land in Egypt by around 30 percent and allowed development in new areas that were previously inundated annually when the river flooded. Then, you will visit workers at an oils and perfume factory to learn about this ancient industry. Your day will continue with visiting the Temple of Philae. Philae in Greek or Pilak in ancient Egyptian, means ‘the end,’ and defined the southernmost limit of Egypt. Back to your Nile cruise for lunch. After lunch, you sail onboard a “Felucca”, a typical Nile sailboat, and view Kitchener's Island Botanical Garden and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. In the evening,enjoy a Nubian Folkloric Show on board. Overnight in Aswan. (B,L,D) Day 8 Cruise/Cairo Morning check - out and breakfast on board, According to your flight time back to Cairo, have an “Optional Tours” to visit a Nubian village on Sohail Island. Here you will visit a traditional Nubian house to learn about the history and culture of the Nubian people over a glass of welcome tea.
