DAY 5 – EDFU / LUXOR Visit the Temple of Horus, the falcon god. Dating from 237 B.C., it is considered the best-preserved temple in Egypt and the second largest after the Temple of Karnak. Sail towards Esna, passing through the Esna Lock. In the afternoon, as you sail towards Luxor, take high tea. Overnight onboard (B,L,D) DAY 6 – LUXOR Visit the West Bank necropolis including the Valley of the Kings, the Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon. Tour Karnak and Luxor temples, a century’s old city of pylons, hypostyle halls, colossal statues, shrines, and obelisks. In the evening see an optional sound and light show at the Karnak Temple (at extra cost). Overnight onboard (B,L,D) DAY 7 – LUXOR / HURGHADA Breakfast and disembarkation followed by a transfer to Hurghada via transportation. Spend the rest of the day at leisure (AI) DAY 8 – HURGHADA Spend this full day at leisure to relax, explore Hurghada on your own, or participate in an optional tour at extra cost. (AI) DAY 9 – HURGHADA Spend this full day at leisure to relax, explore Hurghada on your own, or participate in an optional tour at extra cost. (AI) DAY 10 – HURGHADA / CAIRO After breakfast, transfer to Hurghada Airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be transferred to your hotel. (B) DAY 11 – DEPART CAIRO After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B) The Nile Cruise itinerary may change in sequence but not in visits. DAY 1 – ARRIVE CAIRO Arrive in the Land of the Pharaohs. Upon completion of immigration and customs formalities at Cairo International Airport, you will be met at the exit by our representative and escorted to your hotel. DAY 2 – CAIRO – FULL DAY PYRAMIDS, MUSEUM AND OLD CAIRO WITH LUNCH Start your morning by visiting the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities which includes the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic artifacts Then, drive to Old Cairo to visit Al Moallaka Church (Hanging Church). In the afternoon after lunch, visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. (B, L) DAY 3 – CAIRO / ASWAN / ABU SIMBEL / ASWAN Early in the morning, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Abu Simbel via Aswan. Visit the Great Temple of Ramses II and the temple of his beloved Queen Nefertari. After visiting this magnificent site, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Aswan. Upon arrival in Aswan, you will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay in Aswan. (B) DAY 4 – ASWAN / KOM OMBO / EDFU In the morning, you will visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries with the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Temple of Isis at Philae. Sail on board a felucca (if time permits), a traditional Egyptian sailboat and view Kitchener’s Island Botanical Garden and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to your Nile River cruise ship. Accommodation on board will consist of outside cabins with private facilities. After lunch, sail to Kom Ombo where you will visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Sobek and Haroeris. Then, sail to Edfu. Overnight onboard (B,L,D)
