Coupe, but he also felt that with the help of James (Ames) they could really bring out the hauler’s flow- ing lines. The biggest change is the passenger cab that has been lengthened 4 inches right down the middle, which gives the car a chopped look without affecting visibility. The door hinges were removed, bitchin’ style door handles installed, the spare tire well filled, the grille surround smoothed out and peaked, the cowl vent deleted, the bumpers removed, the running boards sculpted, the glass was flush mounted, the rear window made into a small oval, the rear taillights/stands were molded in, the headlights lowered, and a custom tailgate/rolled pan were fabricated. James straightened everything out and laid down the Crystal Champagne Pearl paint.

The interior is nothing like stock and the waterfall dash with the mini center-waterfall leading to the center console are all custom fabricated. Kurt added a Dodge shifter, a tilt column, a custom steering wheel with 3D printed controls on it, and Dakota Digital gauges. Trent’s Trick upholstery made the seats and covered everything in Dragon Fly leather with expresso accents. I often say I like the way old cars look, but the beauty of rodding is that every person gets to decide where their build-style lands (from mild to wild to stock). Kurt and James made the rod thoroughly modern but maintained the rod’s vintage charm. Kurt has built himself the rod he dreamed of and now he’s out enjoying it. JANUARY 2026 61
