SIMPLE WAYS TO RECHARGE YOUR LIFE ESCAPE THE HUSTLE

There’s something about the calm and quiet of nature that relaxes and soothes me. It’s a chance to get away from the fast pace and traffic of the city to experience new things — new flowers, trees, birds, or even new sounds. I like to allow myself to enjoy the little things in nature and life to recharge. It’s almost like a mini vacation for your mind. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives that we often forget to take time for ourselves. As the summer heat shines on, I can’t help but reflect on the idea of summer vacations and the importance of taking breaks or at least carving out chances to bounce back and feel re-energized. These moments of respite are crucial for maintaining our mental and physical health, preventing burnout, and boosting our overall well- being. While we can’t always travel to our favorite destinations on trips all the time, it’s essential to schedule time for ourselves, and there are ways you can take a little holiday from the stressors of daily life. I’ve always been a big proponent of taking time off. As a lawyer, I can’t ever turn off my phone or the computer, but regardless of what you do, you still need to make space to recharge. My wife and I try to go to Colorado each summer, though we might not make it out this year. It’s nice to have a change of scenery and to swap out the Texas heat for the cooler mountain air. Experiencing different things comes with many benefits, including feeling inspiration or relaxation. In Colorado, the wildflowers are far different from what I have at home. You don’t always appreciate the world’s small wonders like wildflowers unless you go out to find them.

the lake, and I typically start my mornings with a run there when it’s cooler outside. You could visit one of the city’s parks for a stroll or find a creek or river to cool down by, go fishing, cook, and chill with friends. I prefer visiting an outdoor area that’s more secluded to connect with nature and relieve my stress. It’s nice to escape the sound of cars and city life. Many of my clients are on a taxing road to recovery and healing from sometimes very severe injuries. It’s not uncommon for people to feel overwhelmed as they heal or to identify themselves as “injured” or “hurt.” Every day you wake up, it could be that you can’t help but think about your case or what you are physically incapable of doing now. You can easily slip into a depression that causes you not to leave the house, and it just makes the feelings worse. If you can, get away in some fashion that won’t remind you of your current situation. It can be as simple as getting out of the house and walking around your neighborhood. Going somewhere, getting that setting change, and switching into a relaxation mindset can be a positive part of the healing process.

Taking breaks isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity for our well-being. So, whether it’s a walk around the block or a trip to the mountains, prioritize time to recharge and reconnect with the world around you. –Warren Armstrong

VIRTUAL MUSEUM TOURS MAKE ART AND HISTORY ACCESSIBLE DIGITAL DISCOVERY

The priceless artwork, artifacts, and other attractions draw tourists worldwide to museums. However, not everyone can travel the globe to view the works of accomplished artists, curious historical figures, and inventions of esteemed engineers. Luckily, famed institutions like the Louvre in Paris, The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C., all have something in common: Patrons can enjoy them online. The internet helps bring esteemed exhibitions to your browser, where you can take virtual tours free of charge. Here are three incredible museums with virtual tours for all to enjoy! The Louvre Built partly in the ruins of a 12th-century fortress, France’s national museum and art gallery is the most popular destination of its

kind. The French revolutionary government opened the Louvre in 1793, and Napoleon expanded it. Today, it houses some of the world’s most famous works of art, including Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa.” You can enjoy great swathes of its exhibits through virtual tours on its website. National Museum of Natural History Part of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., the National Museum of Natural History is the most-visited natural history museum in the world. Its 1.5 million-square-foot grounds house a dizzying array of exhibits to delight visitors of all ages. Virtual tours are available on its website and include spectacular views of its awe-inspiring exhibits. The State Hermitage Museum Founded by Catherine the Great in 1764, the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum is in

the Russian city of St. Petersburg. Nicholas I and the Soviet Union, among others, have reconstructed and expanded it since then. While some of its works were sold to fund Soviet industrialization, it is still a tremendous beacon of art and culture. With political tension and despotic rule making it more difficult for those in the West to visit Russia at all, its virtual tours, which you can find on Google’s Arts and Culture website, are the safest way to view its contents.

The Hidden Risks of Social Media After an Accident

In today’s digital world, social media is often the first place we turn to share details about our lives, but if you’ve been seriously injured in an accident, you may want to pause before you post. Insurance companies and lawyers are increasingly turning to your digital footprint to gather potential evidence against you in your personal injury claim. Understanding the impacts of your online activity and what steps you can take to protect yourself is crucial. Don’t Post About Your Accident. Though it may seem harmless at the time, sharing details about your accident on social media could hurt your case. Even an update that you’ve been in a wreck but are doing OK could be spun into proof that you are fine and maybe even inflated claims of the injuries you received. Ask friends and family not to post about your accident either, as adjusters may look to those in your online circle for evidence against your claim. Avoid Sharing Photos. Photographs can be a gold mine of potential proof against your claim. Any pictures of you out and about with friends, engaging in physical

activities, enjoying a vacation, or having a drink at the bar can make it seem as though your injuries aren’t serious, you are not having financial struggles, and you may be engaging in risky behavior. Avoid sharing photos that an adjuster or lawyer could use against you, and ask people in your life not to tag you until your case is over. Don’t Delete Posts. Setting your account to private will make information on your page trickier for adjusters to access, but it is far from impossible. Other people on your page can still see all those posts and may screenshot or screen-record them. While it’s best to temporarily take a hiatus on social media, if you post something that may damage your claim, don’t delete it. The opposing party may have already spotted it, and deleting it could make it appear that you have done something wrong or are trying to conceal something. Taking a break from social media might seem challenging, but it’s a small price to pay for safeguarding your personal injury claim. Protecting your digital footprint can help ensure you receive the justice you deserve.

How Much Is Your Injury Claim Worth? KEY FACTORS THAT DETERMINE YOUR PAYOUT

If you file a personal injury claim, it’s natural to wonder how much money you may receive. Every case is different, but understanding the factors determining a settlement can make all the difference in securing fair compensation. Many elements go into your final settlement amount, including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Let’s dive into the main factors that can impact the compensation you deserve. Economic Damages First, there are the economic damages like medical bills that are fairly easy to calculate. These damages are amounts you were billed for, often by a healthcare provider, that you paid out of pocket. Economic damages can be any tangible loss or expense easily broken down into dollars. You can claim compensation for various medical expenses, including lab testing, ER visits, medication, physical therapy, and even ambulance transport. You can also make a case for your lost wages by providing documentation like pay stubs. Non-Economic Damages You may also get compensation for non-economic damages like pain and suffering. These are intangible and subjective expenses

without a clear price tag. They can include emotional distress, mental anguish, disfigurement, and loss of enjoyment of life. While these are harder to prove, they often make up a large portion of personal injury claims. If you are experiencing shock, fear, depression, or even the loss of affection with your partner as a direct result of your injury, you can claim those. Other Factors When your compensation amount is determined, they will look at the severity of your injuries, any permanent disabilities resulting from the accident, if you contributed to the accident, and your willingness to negotiate. They will also determine how much insurance coverage is available to you. Navigating the complexities of a personal injury claim can be daunting, and no two cases are the same. An experienced attorney can help you understand and accurately quantify economic and non-economic damages. They can negotiate effectively on your behalf, handle the intricate details of your case, and fight for the maximum compensation you deserve. Don’t leave your settlement to chance — reach out to Armstrong Law to guide you through the process and secure the best possible outcome.
