The district’s Virtual Care Service and Hospital in the Home are developing ways to use the technology for their patients. Virtual Care Service General Manager Chenyao (Jerry) Yu said patients had found RPM to be highly beneficial. “RPM enables personalised care, empowering patients to manage their health proactively and ensure early identification of any changes,” he said. Telstra Health Remote Patient Monitoring is a technology that enables remote tracking of vital signs. The platform captures and transmits data from devices, such as blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters and weight scales. Maura Farrell, nurse manager, said the technology enhances the care proivded to patients. “RPM enhances our ability to detect early signs of deterioration and engage patients actively in their care,” she said.
