As 2025 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on a wonderful year and share some exciting news about what ’ s ahead for PAWS at ORPS. A December Meeting to Remember- We wrapped up the year with one of the most inspiring meetings we ’ ve ever had. Kent Jackson, an ORPS resident and teacher who works with young adults with disabilities, joined us with some of his students to present one of their current projects—homemade dog treats! We were so impressed that we purchased treats and offered them for sale throughout the resort at the December ORPS flea market. Thank you to everyone who supported this, all proceeds from this went directly back to the students and the school. Supporting Our ORPS Community - Lissa Ornellas continues to run our outreach program here at the resort, helping us support residents who have lost beloved pets. We all know our pets are family, and we believe it ’ s important to acknowledge and honor that loss. Lissa has also been busy working on our green rocks initiative. These green rocks are available to pet owners around the resort to place on their lot, letting neighbors know a pet lives there—and that friendly pets are always welcome to stop by. We will also continue to ask for volunteers for pet sitting and to help owners who may need help with their pets here in the resort. We also provide welcome bags along with rules regarding dogs in the resort to renters. These are handed out to them from the office when they check in. Big News for the New Year - We ’ re thrilled to announce that the dog wash station has received final approval from the board! We ’ re hoping to get this project started as soon as possible. To help fund it, we ’ ll be continuing our monthly trivia nights beginning in January, so come out, have fun, and support a great cause. Volunteers Needed- We ’ ve also begun working with management and are looking for volunteers to help keep our beautiful dog parks in top shape. We ’ re hoping to have weekly volunteers on Thursday mornings to help hose down the concrete, clean benches, and tidy up other park facilities. If you ’ d like to volunteer, please get in touch with us— we can always use an extra hand! Thank you all for your continued support, generosity, and love for our four-legged friends. We ’ re excited for everything the new year has in store.
