January 2026 Oracle

Redeeming the time There is something about turning the final page of the calendar, from one year to the next, that causes us to think about time. Another year has passed. Where did 2024 go? We use some interesting phrases when we talk about time - Wasting time, keeping time, saving time, spending time, even killing time. The Bible uses the phrase “ redeeming ” the time. Eph 5:15 “ See then that you walk carefully, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, as these are desperate days. ” Could you think of better words for us today? Time slips through our fingers so quickly that we hardly notice it is gone. Paul urges us to redeem it, buy it back, to reclaim it with purpose, to make the most of every opportunity. No, we can ’ t get time back, but we can learn to be more purposeful, wise and careful in our use of it. It may be our most precious commodity, as we are unaware of the amount of it we have. So let ’ s prioritize the important, plan wisely for the days ahead and prepare for the eternal. How are you spending your time? Here is our Chapel schedule for January: • January 4: Kent Boothman, an ORPS resident. • January 11: John Guest, Philadelphia, a returning favorite. • January 18: Will Sohnchen , Kelowna, BC • January 25: Paul Cassidy, Chaplain Everyone is always welcome.
