but we should grow in other ways as well. We shall be talking today only about boys and girls who have re ceived the Lord Jesus Christ into their hearts as Saviour. Our lesson tells how these boys and girls are to grow. LESSON: We can imagine that each of us is a little seed. Inside of the brown, dry covering of e v e r y good seed there is the “promise” of some thing beautiful or useful—,a plant of some kind. Without this life-giving “promise” that God puts inside every seed, there could be no growth at all. We are like seeds. The Bible says that there has been given to "us, His children, "exceeding great and pre cious promises” (2 Pet. 1:4), because our heavenly Father is so eager that we should groiy for Him. We know that every p l a n t must have sunshine and water and weed ing and many other things, if it is to grow. The Bible tells us what we need, too, in order to grow. We need the warm, bright sunshine of “faith.” We n e e d the “water of the Word” of God, or “knowledge.” We need the sRading that s e l f - c o n t r o l (“temperance” ) will give. The plant food of “patience" and “kindness’.’ and “love” must be there. If we have these things, after having first trusted the Lord Jesus for salvation,: we shall grow and bear fruit for Him. Object Lesson S a n c t if y in g t h e v S aviou r OBJECTS: Three paper hearts 11 inches high and 8% inches wide. (Cut a slit down the. middle of two of the hearts % x 6 inches. With the two lying on top of the uncut heart, write the words “LORD GOD” in the slit, writing down. Remove the two upper h e a r t s and complete the following words, using thè two words already on the heart: “LYING, COVETING, SWEAR I NG , PRIDE, STEALING, SMOKING and HATRED.” Cover this heart with one of the others and you will again see only the words, “LQpD GOD.” The lower side of this top heart should be colored red. Place the other heart, over these two, and using the words "LORD GOD,” complete the fol lowing words, “L I STEN, WORLD, 2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, . . . . , .. 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and vlrtiie: ■ ... 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, havina escaped the corruption that is in

CHRIST’S, DEATH, GIVES, HOPE, DAILY.” The three hearts may be hinged together on the right side with transparent tape.) LESSON: Do you like to see pic tures? “Yes.” ’ I am afraid;the picture I am to show you this morning will .not be one you will like. It is a picture of the natural heart, showing many sins. When we realize that the heart;is sinful, there is only one wise thing to do, and that is to. receive Christ as personal Saviour. We will fold this red heart, which reminds us of Christ, pver the one with all the sins, and see what happens. All we now see are the two words, “LORD GOD.” These words remind us of 1 Peter 3:15, “But Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts.” The word “Sanctify” m e a n s to set apart. God does not warit to occupy a heart filled with sin; therefore it is necessary for us to get rid of sin. y “And. be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you.” If we fold this other heart over we will see the answer we are supposed to give. It now reads, “LISTEN' WORLD, CHRIST’S DEA TH GIVES HOPE DAILY.” Yo.u, too, may give such a testimony if the Lord is set apart in your heart which has been cleansed from sin by His blood. I hear the words of Jesus, They speak of peace with God; < I see the Lamb, Christ Jesus, Who'bore my heavy load; I trust the blood of Jesus,
