to get him to forget his work. He knew that if he said no to her, and she be­ came angry, she could tell her hus­ band, Joseph’s master, and he could punish Joseph. That is exactly what happened. The woman told lies about Joseph to her husband. He knew Joseph was one of the best workers he ever had, but he put him in prison anyway. All this time, Joseph was not afraid, for he trusted God, and he knew he had done what was right in the Lord’s sight. The Bible says: “The Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy . . . and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper’! (Gen. 39:21, 23). Why should he be afraid? ft D • M 6 • V T • 4 %

LESSON: Would you like to see something I received recently? What do you think it is? “A ring.” I will be glad to show it to you. “Oh, the stone is missing.” That spoils the ring, does it not, to have the stone gone? How do you think peonle lose the stones out of their rings? “They lose them accidentally.” / Did you know that many people accidentally lose some very precious things in life? In the Bible we are warned against losing certain things. “ Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward” (2 John 8). There was danger of their not looking, and losing things that were of far greater value than the stone out of a ring. John had been speaking about “ grace . . . mercy, and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 John 3). He had spoken about their walking in the truth. He had requested that they love one an­ other. You were. Sorry to see this ring with the stone gone. You will be far more sorry if you do not watch your Chris­ tian. life in order that you may not lose some things which are priceless. For if you lose them, you will also fail to receive a full reward.
