Full-grown foxes are the develop ment of baby foxes. Big sins are the outcome of little sins. This is an un breakable law of both life and morals. The time to be on one’s guard against committing ran act which may result in grave consequences, is when the temptation comes to indulge in some less important p h a s e of the same transgression . . . The “little” sin in the heart may break through all the restraints that surround us, and but for God’s great mercy, sink our souls in endless ruin.—Pameii. 19. Unparalleled Love “Christ also loved the eliurch, and gave himself for it” (Eph. 5:25). In the measure in which we truly recognize Him -as our Lord and our selves as His possession will it be easy to put our trust in Him. Do we not all take charge of those things that we purchase? Our Good Shepherd has paid for us an infinite price, and we are not merely the sheep of His pas ture and the subjects of His kingdom, but members of that church which is the Bride whom He loves. —J. Hudson Taylor. 20. Light Enough “The Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory” 7=READ THE BEST— The greatest subject of the Bible is the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. This blood is the very life of Christian faith just as the blood is the sine qua non of medicine. Take the blood from the body, and you have nothing left but a corpse. Hiding in Christ “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time’’ (1 Pet, 5:6). If Christ is in us, we shall be humble too. We shall not want men to think highly of us. We shall wish to hide our names and faces on His breast, behind His cross, and in His work. . . . We shall be found with Him, kneeling at the disciples’ feet, girded with tow els, and washing the feet of the saints.
