"The shadows use this mirror to trap souls in their fears," Pip explained, her voice trembling. "You must overcome what you see, Vanda. Don't let the fears hold you captive." Taking a deep breath, Vanda faced the mirror again, this time focusing on overcoming those fears. With each memory that surfaced, he reminded himself of how he had conquered or learned from that experience. Gradually, the whispers grew quieter, and the images in the mirror shifted, showing moments of triumph and happiness instead. As the final whisper faded, the fog around them began to lift, revealing a path that had been hidden before. At the end of the path, a figure materialized, solid and smiling—it was the shadowy child Vanda had seen before, but now it was clear and bright. "You have freed me from my fears, and so you have freed yourself," the child said in a light, melodic voice. "In return, I give you this." The child handed Vanda a small, glowing orb. "This is the Light of Valor. It will guide you through darkness, both in this world and within yourself." With the child's disappearance, the valley seemed less ominous. The trees seemed to stand a bit taller, and the air felt warmer. Vanda pocketed the Light of Valor, feeling lighter himself. As they left Silent Valley behind, Vanda felt a newfound strength. He had faced his fears directly and emerged victorious. With Pip still by his side and the Light of Valor in his backpack, he felt ready for whatever challenge came next in this strange, game-like world.
